Colonialism and Foreign Intervention in the Middle East and Africa

In this seminar, students learn about the history of colonialism and foreign intervention through examining cases of British, French, and American imperialism. They also analyze claims about cause and effect, considering the logic and evidence that scholars rely on to support their claims. This is a writing-intensive seminar in which students receive feedback on written work and write a research paper. For an overview of the course, see the syllabus here.
